According to the book Daffodils are Dangerous (1966) [link], additional poisonous garden plants include:

  • autumn crocus
  • black locust tree
  • bleeding heart
  • box
  • castor bean plant
  • cherry laurel
  • chinaberry tree
  • Christmas rose
  • daphne
  • English ivy
  • ginkgo
  • golden chain
  • larkspur
  • lilies
  • monkshood (wolfsbane)
  • mountain laurel
  • pasque flower
  • poppy
  • snow-on-the-mountain
  • star-of-Bethlehem
  • tobacco
  • yew
  • deadly nightshade/belladonna
  • Indian hemp
  • hemlock
  • henbane/stinking Roger
  • jimsonweed/moonflower
  • manchineel
  • mandrake
  • mayapple
  • pokeweed

From the book California Foraging (2014) [link]:

  • flaxseed should not be eaten raw
  • avoid tea made from some conifers (ponderosa pine, Norfolk pine, Araucana heterphylla, and Pacific yew)
  • lemonade berry and sugar bush should be avoided by people allergic to cashews
  • mountain pennyroyal, sierra mint, coyote mint should be avoided if pregnant
  • soaproot should not be eaten raw
  • edible acorns must be leached

According to Wicked Plants (2009) [link], other dangerous or poisonous plants include:

  • coyotillo/cimmaron
  • philodendron
  • uncooked red kidney bean
  • unripe ackee
  • improperly prepared cassava
  • chrysanthemum (blossoms from tea okay but plants can cause allergic reactions)
  • hyacinth
  • peacock flowers
  • rosary pea
  • sago palm
