From the book California Foraging (2014) [link]:
- flaxseed should not be eaten raw
- avoid tea made from some conifers (ponderosa pine, Norfolk pine, Araucana heterphylla, and Pacific yew)
- lemonade berry and sugar bush should be avoided by people allergic to cashews
- mountain pennyroyal, sierra mint, coyote mint should be avoided if pregnant
- soaproot should not be eaten raw
- edible acorns must be leached
