Vintage Ceramic/Tiki Mugs
As noted in the book Smuggler's Cove [link]:
I need to warn against serving cocktails out of vintage mugs- many were made before the FDA regulated lead levels in the glazes of ceramics, and so tiki mugs made before 1970 are no longer considered food-safe.
Much like how copper mugs can leach copper into acidic beverages, lead-glazed ceramics and lead crystal glassware can leach lead into cocktails.
